Here's some essential eating less meat vocabulary to get you started:


Carcinogen: A substance which causes cancer. (noun)

Consumption: The amount used or eaten. (noun)

Feed: To give food to a person, group, or animal. (verb)

Flexitarian: A person who eats mainly vegetarian food but eats meat occasionally. (noun)

Lab grown meat: Meat produced by in vitro cultivation of animal cells, instead of from slaughtered animals. (noun)

Livestock: Animals and birds that are kept on a farm, such as cows, sheep, or chickens. (noun)

Patty: a piece of food made into a disc shape that is then cooked e.g a hamburger. (noun)

Plant-based: : Consisting or made entirely of plants, or mainly of plants:. (adjective)

Slice: : To cut food into flat pieces. (verb)

Stroke: A sudden change in the blood supply to a part of the brain, sometimes causing a loss of the ability to move particular parts of the body. (noun)
